Got life support at zero… still Vaibhav Suryavanshi flopped, Tri series exposed

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created fear among the bowlers with his fearless batting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, has made a good start in the tri-series being played in Sri Lanka but has failed to play big innings. Vaibhav has reached double digits in all four matches played so far. But not a single half-century has come from his bat. This 15-year-old young player scored 38 runs against Afghanistan-A on Thursday (June 17).

…so Vaibhav can’t even open an account

Afghanistan-A won the toss and invited India-A to bat first in the match being played in Dambulla. Afghan off-spinner Shams ur Rehman had given a big blow to India-A in the form of Vaibhav in the very second over but luck did not favor him. The fielder standing at the point took an excellent catch of Vaibhav while diving. But later replays revealed that some part of the ball had touched the ground. Vaibhav narrowly escaped. At this time his account was not even opened. If the fielder had completed the catch cleanly, he would have had to return to the pavilion on a duck.

Vaibhav got a lease of life in the next over also. This time the short fine leg fielder dropped his catch. After getting two lives, Vaibhav changed gears in the sixth over and hit a six and then a four against Abdullah Ahmedzai. In the eighth over, he hit a four and a six on the first two balls of Faridoon Dawoodzai but he returned to the pavilion on the last ball of the same over. He scored 38 runs in 28 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. This was his second best score in this tri-series.
