Got relief from petrol price! Modi government started cheap fuel by Rs 20, see today’s rate

If you are also troubled by the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel and want to reduce your pocket money, then there is a very good news for you. Giving great relief to the general public, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has arranged for a new fuel which is cheaper by Rs 20 per liter as compared to normal petrol. Under this big plan, the government has started the first ‘E85’ fuel station in the country’s capital Delhi.

This special fuel station was inaugurated by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri at Indian Oil’s outlet on Pusa Road. After this step, huge enthusiasm is being seen among the drivers.

After all, what is this ‘E85’ fuel and how does it work?

This question might be arising in the minds of many people that what is the use of E85 fuel? Let us tell you that E85 is a special fuel in which 85 percent ethanol and only 15 percent petrol is mixed. Since it contains very high amount of ethanol, our dependence on crude oil is reduced to a great extent, which leads to a huge decline in the cost of fuel.

Large scale use of E85 will significantly reduce India’s oil import bill and will also reduce the compulsion to buy oil from other countries. Apart from this, the best thing is that ethanol is produced in our own country from agro-based raw material i.e. crop waste and sugarcane, which will directly increase the income of the farmers of the country and give them huge benefits.

Know how much is the price and how will you recognize it?

Talking about the price, the price of E85 fuel in Delhi has been fixed at Rs 82.12 per liter. This is about Rs 20 cheaper than the E20 petrol currently being sold in the markets. Let us tell you that the E20 petrol currently available contains only 20 percent ethanol and 80 percent petrol.

For the convenience of customers and to avoid any kind of confusion, a different kind of branding and special label has been installed on the E85 dispensers (machines) installed at petrol pumps. However, one thing to keep in mind here is that at present you cannot use E85 fuel in your normal petrol cars or bikes. This requires specially designed flex-fuel vehicles.

What is the mega plan of Modi government? Stations will open across the country

While revealing the future plan of the government, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the government is currently working rapidly on setting up 50 to 100 ethanol fuel stations in big cities like Delhi-NCR, Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur. He has expressed hope that this network will continue to grow and by the end of 2026, 500 such stations will be ready across the country.

Another big thing the Union Minister said is that if Euro 6 standard vehicles are made compatible with E100 fuel (i.e. 100% ethanol), then it will help in stopping the country’s import of crude oil worth about US $ 120 billion. India has already achieved its lofty target of blending 20% ethanol in petrol, leading to a huge reduction in both pollution and carbon emissions. Experts believe that as flex-fuel vehicles increase in the country, E85 will become the most preferred and cheapest indigenous fuel in the country.
