Government confident on LPG and oil supply amid Middle East tension, says – no need to panic

Lpg news: Amidst the increasing tension in the Middle East and global uncertainty, people’s concerns regarding the supply of LPG and crude oil in the country have increased. However, the government has made it clear that the energy supply in India is completely safe and there is no need to panic. The government says that the supply of oil and gas in the country is continuing and the situation is completely under control.

Crude oil comes from 40 countries

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) of the Petroleum Ministry, told in the press conference on Wednesday that India imports its required crude oil from about 40 different countries. Due to this the supply does not depend on any one area. India’s total crude oil consumption is about 189 million metric tons and the daily requirement is about 55 lakh barrels of oil. He said that despite the current situation, oil supply is continuing and recently two crude oil cargoes have already left for India.

LPG news: Dependence on Hormuz reduced

According to Sujata Sharma, India has created many alternative routes of supply to strengthen energy security. At present, about 70 percent of crude oil is reaching India through routes other than the Strait of Hormuz. This reduces the impact of regional tensions on India’s energy supply. He also said that the supply of domestic PNG and CNG used in vehicles remains normal.

LPG news: LPG cylinder delivered in two and a half days

The government has also made it clear that people do not need to panic regarding LPG cylinders. Delivery of the cylinder is being ensured within an average of two and a half days after booking. Officials say that even though the global conditions are challenging, the energy supply in India is currently stable and under control.

Position of Indian ships in Hormuz

Lpg news: According to officials, a total of 28 Indian ships are currently present in the Strait of Hormuz area. Of these, 24 ships are in the western part, on which 677 Indian sailors are deployed. There itself 4 The ships are in the eastern side, carrying 11 Indian sailors.
