Government employees are in trouble! DA increased by 3%, money will come to the account by tearing the roof
Central employees are eagerly waiting for the Dearness Allowance i.e. DA for the second half of the year 2026. Only time will tell when this wait will end. But meanwhile, some state governments have started increasing DA for the employees of their different departments, which has created a wave of happiness among the employees.
Himachal government opened treasury, DA increased by 3%
In this series, a big good news has come from Himachal Pradesh. Giving a big gift to the employees of Himachal Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation (HPSFDCL), Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has approved a 3 percent increase in their DA from April 1, 2025. Along with this, the Board of Directors of the Corporation has also taken a big decision to give bonus to 175 employees whose monthly salary is up to Rs 21,000.
Permanent job and daily wage also increased
Many more important decisions were also taken in the 216th meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The Board of Directors has also given the green signal to confirm or regularize the services of those daily wage laborers who have completed 240 days of service every year in the last four years. This decision has been taken under the notification of the state government dated April 1, 2026. Apart from this, eligible contract employees will also be regularized as per the policy of the State Government. At the same time, the minimum daily wage for different categories of laborers has also been increased from Rs 425 to Rs 450 per day, which will be considered effective from April 1, 2026.
When will central employees get this wonderful gift?
If we talk about central employees, they are waiting for the announcement of dearness allowance for the half year from July to December. If we look at the pattern of the last few years, it is expected that the government can announce this second half allowance by September or October. Let us tell you that earlier in April, the Finance Ministry had increased the allowance for central government employees and pensioners by 2 percent. This increase came into effect from January 1, 2026, increasing DA directly from 58 percent to 60 percent of the basic salary. About 50 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners are getting the direct benefit of this increase.
How much more increase is expected?
The June data of All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) is awaited to decide the next increase in dearness allowance. According to the data, this index was at 149.1 in March 2026, which reached 149.9 in April and 150.8 in May 2026. It is estimated that for June 2026 this figure may be 151.7. Looking at this trend, it is expected that there may be a huge increase of 3 to 4 percent in the dearness allowance of the employees. However, the final decision will be clear only after the firm figures of June and the approval of the government.
