‘Government has bowed before America’ – Rahul Gandhi expressed great concern about farmers on trade deal.

Bokajan (Assam): Amidst the heat of Assam Assembly elections 2026, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday (April 2) has brought a new twist in the politics of the state. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi made sharp attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sarma. Rahul said something which is now being discussed a lot in the corridors. He alleged that CM Sarma, along with PM Modi and Amit Shah, is running a ‘Land ATM’ in Assam, where lands of the general public are being snatched away.

Rahul Gandhi not only touched upon local issues in the election rally, but also put the central government in the dock regarding international politics and India-US trade deal. He claimed that this deal will break the backs of Indian farmers.

India-US trade deal and Donald Trump’s connection

Rahul Gandhi raised serious questions on the trade deal between India and America. He said that this agreement is completely harmful for India. Rahul argues that by reducing taxes on American goods, Indian markets have been opened for them. He said, “Our farmers have small farms, whereas America has thousands of acres of land. Our farmers will be crushed in this competition.”

Not only this, Rahul Gandhi made a sensational allegation while referring to the American President. He said, “Donald Trump controls Narendra Modi. It was Trump who filed criminal cases against Adani in America.” This statement of Rahul has started a new debate in political circles.

‘Land ATM is running in Assam’ – Rahul’s serious allegation

Attacking Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sarma, Rahul Gandhi termed him the ‘most corrupt Chief Minister of the country’. Rahul said that Sarma and his family are number one in corruption. He claimed that around 98,400 bighas of land has been handed over to three big corporate houses in Assam. According to Rahul, “Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Himanta Vishwa Sarma have made a ‘land ATM’ in Assam. These people are filling the coffers of big industrialists by snatching land from the public.” He warned that all these cases will be investigated and action taken when the Congress government comes to power.

Delhi vs Assam: The promise of local governance

Speaking in support of Congress candidate Ratan Ingati in Bokajan assembly constituency, Rahul also raised questions on the working style of the BJP. He said that BJP wants to run Assam from Delhi, while Congress believes in decentralization of power. Rahul promised that he will fully implement Article 244(A) of the Constitution. He assured that Karbi Anglong and the areas covered under the Sixth Schedule will be governed by the local people and no orders will be imposed from Guwahati or Delhi.
