Government is strict on rumors of shortage of LPG gas, PM Modi said – ‘No need to panic’
New Delhi: Amidst the rumors spreading about LPG supply in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people to avoid panic. He assured that the government is fully prepared to deal with the current situation and the interests of the citizens will be protected.
The Central Government has become alert amid reports of the energy supply chain being affected due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. In view of this, the Home Ministry has set up control rooms to monitor the situation and take action against hoarding.
Control room to monitor LPG supply
The Home Ministry has set up control rooms to continuously monitor the status of LPG supply. Their objective is to ensure that the supply of gas remains normal and the situation does not worsen due to any kind of hoarding or rumours.
The ministry says that the supply of domestic gas cylinders continues as before and people do not need to do panic buying.
Administration alerts in states and districts
Due to the rumors spreading about LPG, the administration has become alert in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. At the district level, officials are advising people to avoid rumors and stay away from unnecessary purchases.
The administration says that there is no shortage of gas and if any person is found hoarding, strict action will be taken against him.
ESMA implemented, priority given to domestic gas supply
The government has already implemented ESMA to maintain essential services. Under this, priority has been given to domestic gas supply.
It has also been decided that the gas supply will be maintained as per the average of the last six months so that there is no shortage of any kind.
PM Modi’s appeal to avoid rumors
Addressing the NDA meeting in Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people to stay away from rumors and share only verified information.
He said, ‘I would appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to avoid rumours. The supply chain has been affected. We hope that we will overcome the crisis, as happened during the Corona period. Our ideology is India First. There is no need to be in any kind of panic. The government is making efforts to protect the interests of everyone.’
Confidence of overcoming crisis like Corona epidemic
The Prime Minister said that the country had shown its strength and unity during the Corona epidemic. He said that at that time 140 crore Indians had shown maturity and he is confident that the country will come out of this crisis in the same way.
He said that the government is constantly monitoring the situation and people need not worry.
Ministry active for fact check and monitoring
The Home Ministry has coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Petroleum. All three ministries are working together to investigate rumors and provide correct information to the people. Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has also held a meeting with the Chief Secretaries and Police Chiefs of all the states and union territories.
The purpose of this meeting is to maintain law and order and to prepare to deal with possible situations arising from rumours.
