Government launches ‘eShram-One Stop Solution’, to benefit unorganised workers

New Delhi: Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on October 21, 2024, launched the portal ‘eShram: One-stop solution’. The portal will provide seamless access to different social security schemes of the government, including pension, food and health, to over 300 million workers from the unorganised sector.

During the launch event of the upgraded portal, Mandaviya focused on the growing trust in the eShram portal. He said every day, around 60,000 to 90,000 workers join the platform, which shows that they have confidence in the initiative. He said that the portal will provide seamless access to different Social Security Schemes to the unorganised workers who have registered themselves on eShram.

He also said that the main objective of the eShram portal is to make the registration process simple for unorganised workers and ensure that they have access to the welfare schemes of the government. He said that the platform connects the workers to the numerous government benefits and makes the registration process easier and more transparent. He urged all unorganised workers to get themselves registered on the eShram portal and use the welfare schemes. He stressed the fact that the platform will enable registered workers to access a host of social security and welfare initiatives of the government.

What are the benefits of the eShram-One Stop Solution?

The portal has been designed to act as a mediator so that unorganized workers get access to several government schemes easily. It will enable the unorganized workers to become aware of the schemes which are beneficial for them. The eShram-One Stop Solution portal aims to integrate beneficiaries’s information and provide them with all the social security and welfare schemes in a single platform.

It enables the government to provide them with the Social Security and Welfare Schemes for the unorganised worker. Consequently, 12 schemes of different ministries and departments have been integrated with the eShram portal. Important welfare schemes like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, One Nation One Ration Card, National Social Assistance Programme, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan, National Career Service etc. have been integrated with eShram, and other welfare schemes will also be integrated.
