Government will give 50 percent grant for cow rearing under Nand Baba Milk Scheme

Chief Veterinary Officer Ambedkarnagar Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh said that the state government has issued a government order for indigenous cow rearing under the Mini Nandini Scheme. Under this scheme, 50% grant will be given by the government for the rearing of advanced indigenous breed of cows like Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana and Tharparkar in the district.

The total cost of this scheme has been fixed by the government at ₹23.6 lakh. To avail the benefit of the scheme, it is mandatory for the applicant to have at least 1 acre of his own land for work, in which the unit will be established as per the prescribed standard/map on 0.2 acre land and green fodder will be produced on 0.8 acre land. According to the terms of the scheme, 10 advanced breed milch indigenous cows will have to be purchased from outside states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan etc. The Chief Veterinary Officer said that out of the total cost of the scheme, the beneficiary will have to invest 15% of the capital himself and a loan can be taken from the bank for the remaining 35% amount.

If the beneficiary is capable and does not want to take a loan, then he can invest the entire 50% capital from his own resources and the remaining 50% will be given by the government as a grant. The main objective of this scheme is to promote indigenous breed of cattle in the district and increase the income of cattle herders. The target of setting up a total of 6 units in the district has been achieved. In case more application forms are received, the beneficiary will be selected through e-lottery under the chairmanship of the Chief Development Officer. The application has to be made by the beneficiary on nandbanadugdhmission.up.gov.in website. Offline forms will not be accepted.
