Government’s big action on LPG crisis! 10 big decisions taken in 3 days to improve the supply of LPG
LPG crisis: Amidst the problems faced in many parts of the country regarding the supply of LPG cylinders, the Central Government has prepared a big action plan. To provide relief to domestic consumers and ensure adequate availability of gas in the market, the government has taken many important decisions from production to supply chain. According to officials, a total of 10 major decisions have been taken after continuous meetings in the last three days, the aim of which is to end the LPG crisis soon.
According to government sources, the first step focuses on increasing the production of LPG. Major refineries of the country have been instructed to increase gas production by making maximum use of their capacity. Along with this, a decision has also been taken to increase LPG import from abroad, so that there is no shortage of gas in the domestic market.
To strengthen the supply system, oil marketing companies have been instructed to improve the logistics system. Arrangements are being made for additional tankers and trucks to transport gas cylinders, so that the cylinders can reach the gas agencies quickly from the depot. Apart from this, those areas are being identified where there is shortage of gas and the supply is being increased there on priority basis.
Government launched campaign against hoarding (LPG crisis)
The government has also decided to crack down on hoarding and black marketing. State governments have been directed to increase monitoring of gas agencies and distributors through local administration. If any complaint is received about deliberate withholding of stock or charging higher prices, immediate action will be taken.
To provide relief to domestic consumers, it has also been decided that if needed, the supply of commercial gas cylinders can be temporarily controlled, so that priority can be given to domestic gas consumers. A special committee has also been constituted to monitor the issues related to commercial gas cylinders, which will keep a constant eye on the market situation.
Officials associated with the Energy Ministry say that the effect of these decisions will be visible soon and the availability of gas cylinders is expected to become normal in the coming days. The government’s aim is that people should not have to face problems due to shortage of cooking gas in any part of the country.
