Governors of many states including Bihar and Himachal changed, Taranjit will be the new LG of Delhi.
Governors of six states including Bihar and West Bengal have been reshuffled. Whereas new faces have got appointment in Bihar, Nagaland and Delhi. Former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been made the new Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi. Whereas former Speaker of Bihar Assembly and senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav was given the responsibility of Nagaland.
Lieutenant General (retd) Syed Ata Hasnain has been made the new Governor of Bihar in place of Arif Mohammad. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, former Indian Ambassador to America, will be the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Current LG Vinay Kumar Saxena was given the command of Ladakh.

The resignation of Ladakh LG Kavinder Gupta has been accepted. Now he has been made the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose also resigned after a tenure of about three and a half years. In his place, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has been given the responsibility of West Bengal.
Whereas Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar will now be the governor of Tamil Nadu. Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has been sent to Telangana. Telangana Governor Vishnu Dev Varma will be the governor of neighboring state Maharashtra. Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed the Governor of Nagaland.

Who is the new LG of Delhi?
Delhi’s new LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu is a former Indian Foreign Service officer of 1988 batch. Before retirement, he was also the 28th Ambassador of India to the US. He has also served in the Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka and Ukraine. In 2024, he contested from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket, but had to face defeat.
