Grand opening of Inter-Hostel Mahotsav in Lucknow University, campus buzzed with sports competitions.

Lucknow, Read: The fifth Inter-Hostel Competition Mahotsav-2026 of Lucknow University was formally inaugurated in Subhash Hall. Students from different hostels are participating in sports and cultural competitions in this week-long festival.

The program started with a huge gathering of students in the playground of Subhash Hostel. The procession led by the University Band and the formal parade were the center of attraction. In which student representatives were seen giving the message of unity and diversity of the campus with colorful placards. Chief Custodian and Coordinator Prof. Anoop Kumar Singh gave the welcome speech. The start of the competition was announced with the lighting of the torch and release of balloons.

Sports Director Dr. RP was the chief guest. Singh gave the message to the students to maintain fairness and sportsmanship. Dean Student Welfare Prof. Under the leadership of VK Sharma, the participants took an oath to compete honestly. Provost of Subhash Hall, Prof. Mahendra Agnihotri presented the vote of thanks.

Volleyball matches were organized as the first sports competition. In the girls category, teams from six hostels participated, in which Kailash and Ganga Hostel made it to the finals. In the final match, Kailash Hostel performed brilliantly and won the title, while Ganga Hall remained the runner-up. In the men’s category, Mahmudabad and Habibullah hostels reached the final, which will be played on February 26. With the inauguration of the festival, the university campus was filled with sports spirit and enthusiasm.
