Grandson became a murderer: Grandparents were killed to build a temple, a loan of Rs 15 lakh made them a ‘demon’

Karnal: A case that puts humanity to shame has come to light in Karnal, Haryana, where a grandson brutally murdered his grandparents. The grandson whom the elders had saved from homelessness by giving them their savings, committed this horrific crime out of greed for land and money. Police have arrested the main accused Ravindra and his two associates.

Drug addiction and pretending to be a ‘Baba’

According to DSP Gorakhpal Rana, the main accused Ravindra is a drug addict and calls himself ‘Baba’. Ravindra had his eyes on the valuable land of his grandfather Hari Singh and grandmother Leela. He wanted to take over that land after the death of the elders and build a temple there. He also included two youths named Pradeep and Gulshan in his crazy conspiracy. He persuaded them to cooperate in the murder by luring them with copper utensils and other items.

“Ravindra please save…” Grandmother kept calling her grandson even in her last moments.

On the dark night of January 11, the three accused entered the house, tied the hands and legs of the elderly couple and pasted tape on their mouths. After this Ravindra started brutally strangling both of them one by one. The heartbreaking thing is that when Ravindra was strangulating his grandmother Leela, he did not realize that the murderer was his own grandson. Since Ravindra lived in the neighborhood, grandmother called out in agony, “Save Ravindra!” Ravindra had his face covered with a cloth, so she could not recognize him and died while pleading for help.

A small injury and a false story revealed the secret

The police had suspicion on Hari Singh’s grandson Ravindra from the beginning. During the investigation, the team of CIA-2 and Assandh CIA noticed that Ravindra had injury marks on the finger of his right hand. When rigorously interrogated by the police, he fabricated the story that he had suffered the injury while cutting wood. However, when the police took him to the place where he claimed to have cut wood, no wood was found there. This lie turned the police’s suspicion into belief and Ravindra was devastated.

Loan of Rs 15 lakh and craze to grab land

The real reason behind the murder was Ravindra’s huge debt. He had taken a loan of Rs 15 lakh from the bank, which he was not able to repay. When the bank came to confiscate his house, it was Dada Hari Singh who saved his house by paying the money. For the last one and a half year, grandfather was demanding his money back, which was displeasing to Ravindra. In order to avoid debt and establish himself by building a temple on the land, he killed his own blood.
