In view of the deadly pollution in the capital Delhi-NCR, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CQAM) has announced the implementation of GRAP-4. Under this, many types of restrictions have been imposed. The Environment Ministry and the Education Department of the Government of Delhi have issued separate notifications and issued orders to employees and schools. AQI in Delhi has crossed 450. The situation has become a medical emergency. People are finding it difficult to breathe.

Air pollution has been increasing steadily since last few days, due to which CAQM has implemented GRAP-4 restrictions. Air Quality Index of Delhi ((AQI) It has reached the worst level. Residents of Delhi are currently facing a double whammy of nature. On one hand is the growing cold and on the other, there is air pollution that is making the air toxic. Both of these things are creating problems for people and people are facing it every day. AQI was recorded at 431 on Saturday at 4 PM and has increased. An AQI of 441 was recorded at 6 pm.

Air quality index crossed 400

Pollution The main reasons for the increase are considered to be slow wind speed, stagnant atmosphere, poor weather parameters and meteorological conditions as well as non-degradation of pollutants. At 6 PM on Saturday, Delhi NCR recorded an AQI of 441. Considering the severe air pollution situation in Delhi, the Air Quality Management Commission has implemented Grade 4. Grade 3 restrictions were announced in the morning. Along with this, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 restrictions are now applicable in Delhi. Wazirpur recorded the highest AQI of 445, Anand Vihar 439, Vivek Vihar 444 and Jahangirpuri 442. 437 were recorded in Ashok Vihar and Rohini.

GRAP-4 restrictions apply

In an effort to prevent further deterioration in air quality, the CAQM on GRAP has decided to immediately implement all the actions mentioned under Stage IV of the existing GRAP across NCR. This is in addition to the actions already implemented under Stages I, II and III of GRAP in NCR. Moreover, the NCR Pollution Control Board and other concerned agencies have been directed to intensify preventive measures to prevent further deterioration of air quality in the region.

What is prohibited?

Implementation of Stage IV of GRAP will halt all construction activities in Delhi. The government may decide to suspend physical classes in all schools except classes 10th and 12th. Delhi and state government may decide to conduct online classes. Entry of trucks has been banned in Delhi except for all CNG-electric trucks carrying essential goods and engaged in essential services. Additionally, electric vehicles, CNG and BS VI diesel vehicles, light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi and trucks coming from other states will not be allowed to enter Delhi except those carrying essential goods and providing essential services.
