GRAP Stage-4 implemented, now which vehicles are banned and which will not get petrol and diesel?

Delhi Vehicle Ban: The pollution situation in Delhi remains very worrying at present. As air quality continues to deteriorate, pollution levels have reached ‘very severe’ levels. This is considered to be the strictest stage of GRAP, in which strict restrictions are imposed on vehicles from entry to their movement and fuel supply. In such a situation, the biggest question in the minds of common people is whether their car will be able to run in Delhi or not.

What is the biggest change in GRAP Stage-4?

After the implementation of GRAP Stage-4, the rules regarding vehicle operation in Delhi and NCR become very strict. Especially strict screws have been tightened on vehicles coming from other states and vehicles with old emission standards. This is directly affecting private cars, taxis, school buses and commercial vehicles.

Which vehicles will not get entry in Delhi?

According to the new order, only BS-6 vehicles registered outside Delhi will be allowed to enter the capital. Apart from this, entry of all vehicles of BS-2, BS-3 and BS-4 categories will be completely banned till further orders. This rule will apply to all private cars, taxis, school buses and commercial vehicles. Trains from other states running in Delhi are also being strictly checked. If a vehicle does not meet BS-6 standards, it can be confiscated.

Interstate buses also affected

Most of the interstate buses coming to Delhi from other states are of diesel BS-4 category. In such a situation, the operation of these buses in Delhi is being badly affected and services have been stopped on many routes.

These vehicles will not get petrol and diesel

Now no vehicle is being fueled at petrol pumps in Delhi without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. According to the Environment Minister, cameras installed at petrol pumps automatically identify vehicles without valid PUC and fuel is refused to such vehicles. The minister also said that till now, due to lack of PUC, fine has been imposed on around eight lakh vehicle owners.

Government’s clear message

The Environment Minister reiterated that only vehicles with BS-VI standards registered outside Delhi can enter the city. The government believes that these strict steps will control pollution to some extent.
