Mahaparva Chhath Puja started with Nahay-Khay, PM Modi gave these special wishes to the countrymen
New Delhi : From today, the great festival of folk faith Chhath has started with Nahay-Khay. “Nahay-Khay” holds a special significance for the fasting people. This day is very important in the worship of Chhathi Maiya, because it is the beginning of the four days of Chhath festival. On this occasion, devotees who observe fast keep fast for the whole day and eat only one meal at a time, in which mainly pumpkin-rice and chiuda-ghee are consumed.
On this first day of Mahaparva Chhath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted all the countrymen, especially all the devotees who are participating in this holy ritual. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm and reverence regarding Chhath Puja across the country. This festival is celebrated with great pomp especially in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Nepal. On this day, the fasting people offer Arghya to the setting Sun and the next day they conclude their fast by offering Arghya to the rising Sun. Chhath Puja is a festival of folk faith in which people offer prayers even to the setting sun.
Along with this day, the next three days of Chhath festival will also be filled with devotion and faith, in which devotees worship the Sun God and wish for happiness and prosperity in life through their prayers.
