Great news for the farmers of Bihar! Now cheap electricity will be available for 12 hours every day, irrigation will be easy

Patna. Due to the uncertainty of monsoon in Bihar and less rainfall in many areas, the challenge of irrigation before the farmers has increased. At such a time, the state government has taken an important decision to provide relief to farming. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has instructed the officials to provide uninterrupted electricity to the farmers for agricultural works from 6 am to 6 pm i.e. for 12 hours continuously through agricultural feeders.

Regular electricity will be available for irrigation

The aim of the government is that farmers do not have to face the problem of power cuts at the time of irrigation. By getting electricity for 12 hours continuously, farmers will be able to plow their fields as per their need. Especially the farmers cultivating crops like paddy, maize, pulses and vegetables are expected to get direct benefits from it. This decision can play an important role in managing farming in areas with low rainfall, because timely irrigation will reduce the possibility of crop loss.

Electricity at the rate of only 55 paise per unit

Bihar government is already providing electricity at subsidized rates to agricultural consumers. Farmers are getting electricity at the rate of about 55 paise per unit on agricultural connections. The government says that about 93 percent subsidy is being given on this. By getting electricity at a lower rate, the irrigation expenses of the farmers will reduce and the additional expenditure on diesel pumps will also reduce. This can help in reducing the cost of farming and increasing the income of farmers.

Supply will be from more than 2,700 agricultural feeders

More than 2,700 agricultural feeders have been established for the agricultural sector in the state. Arrangements have been made for separate power supply for irrigation through these feeders, so that farmers can get regular electricity without affecting the domestic power supply. The government’s aim is that electricity should reach as many farms as possible in the state on time and farmers should get uninterrupted irrigation facilities.
