Mahapanchayat and agitation on authority on 17th July

Kisan Sangharsh Morcha in Greater Noida has announced to hold a Mahapanchayat and agitation at the Greater Noida Authority office on July 17. Representatives of Kisan Sabha, Kisan Ekta Sangh and Kisan Parishad gave information about this decision during a press conference held in Sector Swarn Nagari. Farmer organizations say that the administration was repeatedly informed about the resolution of the demands pending for many years, but till now no concrete action has been taken.

District President of Kisan Sabha, Dr. Rupesh Verma said that during the farmers’ movement of the year 2023-24, the administration had given many assurances, but most of the promises have not been fulfilled yet. For this reason, the farmers have again decided to adopt the path of agitation.

Major demands related to population issue and 10 percent land plot

According to farmer organizations, 854 cases are still pending in Greater Noida, about 3,800 in Noida and about 800 in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area. Apart from this, more than one lakh farmers are deprived of the right to 10 percent developed land.

Farmers say that in the 133rd board meeting of Greater Noida Authority, a proposal related to 10 percent developed land has been passed and sent to the government, but the final decision on it has not been taken yet. Farmers demand that the government should soon approve this proposal and provide their rights to the beneficiaries.

Demand to increase circle rate also raised

National President of Kisan Ekta Sangh, Soran Pradhan said that farmers will not back down on their demands. At the same time, Veer Singh Nagar, convenor of Kisan Sangharsh Morcha, alleged that the public representatives did not take the issues of farmers seriously and did not make effective efforts to revise the circle rates.

Farmer leaders say that the market price of land in Gautam Buddha Nagar has reached Rs 1 lakh per square meter at many places, while farmers were compensated at a very low rate during the acquisition. He believes that the current circle rate is not in line with the actual market price.

According to organizations, more than 10 thousand farmers are likely to participate in the Mahapanchayat to be held on July 17. During the movement, a strategy will be made to attract the attention of the administration and government regarding various pending demands.
