Greuther Fürth’s Noel Futkeu wins Bundesliga 2 top scorer’s prize

Greuther Fürth striker Noel Futkeu claimed Bundesliga 2’s top scorer’s prize for 2025/26 with 19 goals.

Futkeu scored Fürth’s third goal as they salavaged the play-off berth whilst relegating Fortuna Düsseldorf on a dramatic final day.

The 23-year-old found the back of the net in 14 of his 34 league outings, scoring seven times across his last five appearances of the regular season alone. In addition to his Matchday 30 hat-trick against Darmstadt, he also registered three braces.

Darmstadt counterpart Isac Lidberg and Magdeburg’s Mateusz Żukowski finished joint-second in the scoring charts on 17 goals.

Futkeu will have the chance to add to his tally when Fürth contest the two-legged play-off against 3. Liga’s Rot-Weiss Essen for the right to play Bundesliga 2 football in 2026/27.

Whatever happens, the Essen native has Bundesliga football to look forward to next term after Eintracht Frankfurt activated a buy-back option on their former charge.

Futkeu played for the Frankfurt reserves and made one first-team appearance, before moving to Fürth in July 2024. Ahead of the play-off, he’s on 30 goals in 69 competitive games for the Clover Leaves.
