Former Duke standout Cameron Boozer made his NBA Summer League debut on Saturday. If you’re wondering, yes, it was glorious.
Boozer finished the game with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, four rebounds and four assists. He played for 24 minutes and helped the Memphis Grizzlies achieve a 111-74 victory over the Thunder.

“It felt comfortable,” Boozer told reporters, according to ESPNof his first time on the court wearing the Grizzlies’ colors. “Obviously, it’s still an adjustment because going to a whole new team, whole new system, you got one week of practice before playing.”
He added that he “felt good, especially with this group” and that they’re “very easy to play with, just because everyone’s playing for each other, playing the right way.”
What stands out about Boozer’s quote is that he said there’s still a “lot of learning to do.” For a player who just had what was really the best rookie debut possible, that’s a humble soundbite and shows that he’s not going to take anything for granted. The Grizzlies got a real one in Boozer, and it’ll be exciting to watch him bloom this season.
