GST collections rise: 8.8% increase in GST revenue in March, crosses Rs 2 lakh crore mark
New Delhi: Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections increased by 8.8 percent in March to more than Rs 2 lakh crore. According to data released by the government on Wednesday, this increase was due to increase in tax collection from domestic sales and imports. Gross GST collection in March 2025 was Rs 1.83 lakh crore.
According to the data, domestic revenue grew by 5.9 per cent to over Rs 1.46 lakh crore while import revenue rose by 17.8 per cent to Rs 53,861 crore. According to the latest data, the amount of refund issued during March increased by 13.8 percent to Rs 22,074 crore.
Net GST revenue after adjusting ‘refunds’ stood at around Rs 1.78 lakh crore, showing a growth of 8.2 per cent year-on-year. Gross GST revenue for the entire financial year 2025-26 (April-March) increased by 8.3 percent to more than Rs 22.27 lakh crore. After adjusting ‘refunds’, net revenue increased by 7.1 percent to Rs 19.34 lakh crore.
