Gujarat AAP MLA Chaitra Vasava and relative of the deceased worker slapped each other!

On April 23, two workers were killed in a fire at the Metropolitan Exychem plant in Gujarat’s Bharuch district. When talks were going on between the victim’s family and company officials regarding compensation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitra Vasava also reached there. When the victim’s family protested against this, the tension between the two increased. The matter escalated so much that Chaitra Vasava and a person from the victim’s family slapped each other.

Its video is going viral on social media and people are criticizing Vasava. AAP MLA Chaitra Vasava had come to meet the victim’s family, but he got into a scuffle with a person from the same family. People nearby were seen trying their best to intervene and somehow cool down the matter.

On April 23, 16 workers were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a chemical factory in Jhagariya GIDC and two people, including Rakesh Vasava, later died during treatment. A day after Rakesh’s death, his relative Roshan Vasava had reached the factory premises to discuss compensation for the family of the deceased employee.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Dediapada (ST) MLA Chaitra Vasava also reached the factory premises with his supporters and family members of the injured workers and demanded more compensation for all the victims. In a viral video, the MLA is seen arguing with Roshan, a member of the victim’s family, on some issue near the factory gate and suddenly slapping him in the presence of a police officer.

Roshan also retaliated and slapped the MLA, after which others separated them. While talking to journalists after the incident, Roshan made serious allegations against the MLA. “Chaitar Vasava came here and started provoking people. I know he came here to extort money (from the company) and not to help our (tribal) community. I am not associated with any political party. I have come here for my family,” he said. Roshan said that neither any policeman harassed him nor was he taught to react in any particular way.

He said, ‘If the law and order situation deteriorates here, Chaitra Vasava will be completely responsible for it.’ Responding to the allegations, the Aam Aadmi Party MLA claimed that he had visited the factory after the relatives of the victims approached him demanding justice. Police officials have not yet issued any statement and no FIR has been filed.
