Gujarat government engaged in making natural farming a mass movement, expressed concern over the use of chemicals.

To take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Back to Basics vision to rural areas, the Gujarat government is continuously working towards making natural farming a mass movement. In this sequence, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the farm of natural farming farmer Alpesh Patel in Mahundra village of Gandhinagar taluka. During this time, he learned about cow-based methods and animal husbandry.

CM expressed concern on this matter

The Chief Minister interacted with the people of the village sitting on a cot and said that natural farming is the most effective medium for a secure future for the coming generations. He said that reducing excessive use of chemical fertilizers will prevent serious diseases and improve the health of the soil as well as the society. He expressed concern that due to continuous chemical farming the level of carbon in the soil has reduced significantly. In such a situation, natural farming is a strong solution to increase soil fertility and protect people’s health. The Chief Minister called upon all citizens to fulfill their responsibilities in conserving natural resources.

The world is moving towards green energy- CM

Bhupendra Patel said that with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, water conservation is being promoted through schemes like Amrit Sarovar and Khet Talawadi. He said that under the Sujalam Sufalam scheme, now the distance of bringing water to fill the ponds has been increased from 3 kilometers to 7 kilometers, which will benefit more areas. Referring to the recently launched hydrogen train, the Chief Minister said that the world is moving towards green energy and India will also play a leading role in this field. He appealed to people to use paper bags instead of plastic and adopt an environment-friendly lifestyle.

Farmers shared their experiences

During the program, farmers doing natural farming shared their experiences and told that the guidance of agricultural scientists and government officials has helped them in adopting chemical-free farming. The Chief Minister also visited the model natural farming farm of farmer Shantilalbhai Patel in Shivpura Kampa village.
