Gujarat Earthquake: Earthquake tremors felt in Kutch, Gujarat, intensity measured 4.4
Kutch, 26 December. Earthquake tremors were felt in Kutch, Gujarat on Friday morning. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 4.4, which was at a depth of 10 kilometers from the surface. Panic spread among the local people after the tremors were felt. At present, there is no information about any kind of damage. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) shared information about the earthquake on the social media platform ‘X’ on Friday morning.
According to NCS, this 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:30 am at a depth of 10 kilometers. Due to the earthquake being close to the surface, people felt the tremors despite their low intensity. Let us tell you that Kutch region of Gujarat is considered very sensitive from earthquake point of view. It comes under seismic zone-5. This range is considered to be the most dangerous and high-risk area in India. This week, earthquake tremors have been felt at many places in different parts of the country. Earthquake occurred in Udalguri, Assam on Thursday.
According to the National Center for Seismology, it was a 3.0 magnitude earthquake, whose epicenter was at a depth of 19 kilometers. Earthquake was recorded in parts of Bay of Bengal, Rajasthan and Sikkim on Wednesday. The magnitude of the earthquake in the Bay of Bengal was 4.2, while it was 3.3 in Gangtok and 3.0 in Mangan in Sikkim. An earthquake of 3.4 magnitude was recorded at a depth of 5 kilometers in Jalore, Rajasthan. Earlier, on December 23, an earthquake of 2.6 magnitude occurred in Raigarh, Maharashtra.
