Gujarat CM’s relief fund becomes ‘Sanjeevani’ for serious patients, treatment of cancer, liver-kidney failure also free.
Gujarat Govt: The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund or CMRF, run by the Gujarat government, has emerged as a strong security cover for the citizens of the state in times of crisis. From accidents, serious illnesses to natural disasters, the scope of CMRF is continuously expanding. Especially in the field of health assistance, CMRF has given new life to thousands of families by providing timely financial relief. Under the leadership of state head Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been made more sensitive, prompt and people-centric. The government clearly says in this matter that no citizen can be deprived of treatment just because of financial constraints. CMRF has become a powerful medium of trust and assistance for the common people of the state. The principle of CMRF is – people’s life and health are paramount.
Treatment of these diseases is free
The main objective of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is to provide life-saving treatment to such patients from economically weaker sections for whom expensive treatment is not possible. Such as heart disease, kidney and liver failure, serious lung diseases and serious and difficult treatments like organ transplant.
To avail the benefit of CMRF, it is necessary to fulfill these eligibility criteria.
Some eligibility criteria have been fixed to avail the benefits of the government’s CMRF scheme. For example, the annual income of the person applying should be less than Rs 4 lakh. If the applicant is a senior citizen then his annual income should be Rs 6 lakh. The Revenue Department verifies the required documents along with the application. The approval of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Committee is given only after verification. After this the assistance amount is sent directly to the hospital or patient’s bank account.
