Gunpowder under houses and an explosion with a button! Israel wiped out entire villages, will even Litani river be captured?
Two different pictures are being seen in the Middle East at present. On one hand, the table of peace is decorated in the capital of Pakistan, while on the other hand, such horrifying pictures are coming from the battlefield which are soul-stirring. In southern Lebanon, the Israeli Army (IDF) is being accused of destroying border villages as part of a well-planned strategy.
Houses are being blown up with remote control
According to a recent report by ‘Guardian’, the Israeli army is planting huge quantities of explosives inside the houses in the villages of southern Lebanon and then turning the entire area into ruins through remote control. In viral videos on social media and footage released by the Israeli army itself, beautiful villages like Taybeh, Nakoura and Deir Serayan can be seen turning into clouds of smoke. Experts have named this move of Israel as ‘domicide’, which means destroying houses in such a way that humans cannot settle there again in the future.
Israel’s ‘Rapha Model’ and preparation of Litani River
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had already made it clear that all those houses in the border villages which are being used for military purposes will be destroyed. This strategy looks a lot like Gaza’s ‘Rafa Model’. Israel claims that it is only blowing up those houses under which Hezbollah has built its tunnels and hideouts. It is reported that Israel is now preparing to capture a large part of southern Lebanon up to the Litani River and create a ‘security zone’ there. According to Lebanese media, more than 2,000 people have lost their lives so far in this war.
What happened to the peace talks? Disappointing news from Islamabad
Amidst the war, the eyes of the whole world were focused on the US-Iran peace talks going on in Islamabad, Pakistan, but no good news came from there either. Even after 21 hours of marathon discussion, the talks remained inconclusive. US Vice President JD Vance has warned Iran in a strict tone. He said Washington has put its “best and last offer” on the table, and it is now up to Tehran to decide whether it wants peace or not.
Iran’s counterattack: Difficult to trust America
On the other hand, the head of the Iranian delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has raised questions on America itself. He said that Iran had taken constructive initiatives to make the talks successful, but the American side completely failed to win the trust of the Iranian delegation. For now, there is hope for a weak ceasefire in the region, but the destruction of villages in Lebanon and the increasing number of displaced people are testifying to a major humanitarian crisis.
