Hacks Season 5 Trailer Sets Release Date for HBO Max Show’s Final Episodes
HBO Max has officially released a new Hacks Season 5 trailerrevealing when the final season of the hit comedy starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder will return.
“In the aftermath of mistaken and unflattering news reports that she passed away, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) return to Las Vegas more determined than ever to secure Deborah’s legacy as a comedian,” reads the official logline for Hacks Season 5.
Hacks Season 5 will officially premiere on HBO Max on April 9, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET. The show will debut with two episodes, and then will air new episodes weekly, with two new episodes on April 30 and May 7, until the series finale on May 28.

What happens in the Hacks Season 5 trailer?
The new trailer for the show previews Deborah Vance (Smart) dealing with the fallout of rumors of her death, while also grappling with what her legacy will be. The trailer also previews some of the comedy that will be returning with the award-winning series.
Alongside Smart, Hacks features a star-studded cast that also features Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, Lorenza Izzo, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari. Additional cast members for Season 4 include Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore, III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, and Sandy Honig.
Hacks is created and executive produced by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who are also serving as showrunners. The series is executive produced by Michael Schur, David Miner and Morgan Sackett. It is a production by Universal Television.
