Hai Jawani Toh… Varun’s third film influenced by South release
Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is Varun Dhawan’s next release. Made in the direction of David Dhawan, this movie also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. The makers had earlier announced that the movie would release on April 10, but later changed the date to June 5, 2026. After Yash starrer Toxic bows out of the Eid clash with Dhurandhar 2, the movie will clash with Ab Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
After postponing the clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, the makers of Toxic have announced a new release date. According to the official announcement, the film will not hit the big screens on June 4, which will coincide with the release of Varun Dhawan’s Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. This may affect the business of this Varun Dhawan starrer movie.
The hype surrounding Toxic is already at an all-time high. Now that the clash with the film Dhurandhar 2 has been postponed, it has added a huge audience. Made in Kannada and English, the Yash starrer film will actually have a pan-India release, and will have major screenings in Hindi-speaking regions as well. Apart from this, Bollywood stars like Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi also play important roles in the film, which has further increased its appeal in North India. It is expected that this mass film will dominate the single-screen theatre. It remains to be seen whether the makers of Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will change their release date or not.
Varun Dhawan’s other films were also affected due to regional films.
This is not the first time that the Varun Dhawan starrer will face a clash with a South release. The actor’s previous release, Sunny Sanskari’s Tulsi Kumari, hit the big screens on October 2, the same day Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara 2 also released. This caused great loss to the Bollywood release business.
In December 2024, Varun Dhawan’s Baby John was released on Christmas. Despite releasing a few weeks after Pushpa 2, Varun Dhawan’s film could compete with the Allu Arjun starrer.
