Hair dry as a broom due to the harsh sun? Follow the tips given by the experts to keep your hair fresh forever

Summers in India are very hot. Constantly rising temperatures, humidity, sweat and pollution, put a lot of stress on your hair. What most people call ‘dry hair’ or ‘oily hair’ is actually the hair’s response to environmental imbalances. In which the moisture in the hair is reduced on one side, while the amount of oil on the other side is increased.

Rethink your hair washing routine:

In summer, your scalp is prone to excess sweat and oil; However, this does not mean that you should shampoo every day. Excessive hair washing strips away the natural oils from the hair. The scalp produces even more oil to compensate. So wash your hair 2-3 times a week with a mild shampoo and focus more on cleaning the scalp than the length of the hair.

Moisture is your best friend:

Heat as well as UV rays deplete the moisture in the hair, making it dry and dull. Use a light, moisturizing conditioner and apply a deep-conditioning mask once a week. Leave-in conditioners are effective in keeping the hair soft as well as keeping it light.

Turn down the heat, turn up the texture:

Your hair is already exposed to the heat outside, adding more styling tools to it can increase dryness and breakage. Follow natural textures, natural hair drying and low maintenance styles to maintain your hair. This not only keeps the hair healthy, but also helps to look effortlessly beautiful in summers.

Protect from moisture:

Moisture causes the hair cuticle to swell, causing the hair to tangle and lose its shape. Apply an anti-frizz serum or light oil to damp hair, which will create a protective layer that locks in moisture and keeps outside humidity at bay.

Protect hair from sunlight and external damage:

Just like your skin, your hair needs protection from UV rays. Long exposure to the sun weakens the hair and makes it fade. Cover hair when outdoors or use products with UV filters to maintain shine and strength.

Freshness starts from the palate:

A clean, balanced scalp is the foundation for fresh-looking hair. Excessive sweating can cause itchiness, dandruff and hair loss. Use clarifying products occasionally and avoid layering too many styling products. E.g. Use Probio Honey Moisture Leave-In Conditioner Spray, which acts as a hydrating mist for hair.

Style smart, not hard:

Instead of fighting your hair when it’s too humid, adapt to it. Sleek buns, braids, or textured ponytails can spice up your look and minimize exposure to heat and sweat.

When you focus on scalp health, hair moisture and protection, your hair will naturally be fresher, healthier and easier to manage even in the hot sun. Because, the secret to beautiful summer hair is not in styling but in proper care.
