HAL Tejas MK1A News: Pak, China will spare no one! Entry of ‘Tejas Mk-1A’ into Indian Air Force; In the final phase of testing
- Pakistan, China will not leave anyone!
- Entry of ‘Tejas Mk-1A’ into Indian Air Force
- In the final phase of testing
A big leap is being taken in the Indian defense sector under ‘Make in India’. Indian Air Force (IAF) The wait is almost over. The new generation is expected from 2021 ‘Tejas Mark 1A’ (Tejas Mk-1A) The first delivery of the fighter is likely to take place in the third week of April. This will be sealed in an important meeting between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Air Force Chief soon.
Entry will be given only after strict technical tests
Tejas Mk-1A will have to go through strict technical criteria (Air Staff Quality Requirements) before being included in the fleet of the Air Force. Only after this process is completed, the Air Force will get actual possession. The nature of these tests will be as follows: Senior technical officers of the Air Force will check the quality of the aircraft at HAL’s factory. Experienced fighter pilots of the Air Force will test the aircraft’s firepower and aerial maneuvers. If any faults are found during the test, the aircraft will be sent back to ‘HAL’ for rectification. A final report will be prepared only after complete satisfaction.

The delay was due to engine supply
The main reason behind the delay in delivery of Tejas is the untimely supply of engines. A contract with General Electric (GE) for the Tejas Mark-1A was signed in 2021, according to which India was expected to receive 99 ‘F404’ engines. Now the supply of this engine has started slowly and this project has gained momentum. After air force chiefs expressed displeasure over the delay at last year’s ‘Aero India’ show, HAL has accelerated the work.
Why is ‘Tejas’ important for the Air Force?
At present Indian Air Force requires 42 fighter squadrons to meet the challenge of future wars, but actually only 29 squadrons are available. ‘Tejas’ will be a very important link to fill this huge gap.
- Existing Fleet: The Air Force has already inducted 38 of the 40 Tejas (Mark-1) aircraft into the fleet.
- New Order: HAL has received an order for 83 Tejas Mark-1A aircraft and has contracted for another 97 aircraft.
- Future Planning: With the help of these planes, the aim is to create a total of 9 new squadrons in the Air Force in the coming years.
Not only India, but also global defense experts have drawn attention to this delivery, which will take place at the end of April. This will once again prove India’s indigenous defense production capability.
