During a recent interview he ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ Taking a dig at ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ (now on Netflix), he said some things which are going viral on social media.

50-year-old comedian Sunil Pal is known for his straight comedy, but from time to time he has also been critical of fellow comedians. This time his target was the casting pattern of Kapil Sharma and his show.

1. “Half of Punjab has been filled” (The Punjab Remark)

Sunil Pal said in a funny but sharp tone that Kapil Sharma has given place only to his close ones and the people of Punjab in his show. He said: “Kapil has covered half of Punjab in his show. It is as if there is a langar there, whoever you see is coming from Punjab.”

2. Questions raised on casting

Sunil Pal was pointing out that ‘groupism’ and regionalism are being given priority over talent in The Kapil Sharma Show. He sarcastically said that instead of comedians from new and different fields getting a chance in the show, the same selected faces and same flavor are being shown again and again.

3. Reference to the ‘Langar’ statement

Sunil Pal used the term ‘Langar’ to denote the huge crowd of artists in the show and the dominance of a single community. However, there are mixed reactions on social media regarding his statement.
