Indian men’s doubles pairing of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth reached the final of the 2024 Hangzhou Open ATP 250 event, at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Centre on Monday.

Facing third-seeded America’s Robert Galloway and Argentina’s Ariel Behar in the semi-final, Jeevan and Vijay scripted a rollicking comeback victory, 0-6, 6-2, 10-4.

After getting completely outplayed in the first set, where the Indian duo lost 6-0, without winning a single game, they made a strong comeback in the second set, winning it 6-2. Their comeback in the second set meant the match was tied at 1-1.

The deciding game saw the Indian duo dominate their opposition completely, winning 10-4 and completing a remarkable comeback win.

The Indians will face German duo Constantine Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens in the final on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Indian pairing defeated the Australian pair of Blake Bayldon and Thomas Fancutt 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-7 in the round of 16.

Following that, they faced British duo Llyod Glasspool and Julian Cash in the quarterfinal and won 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 10-8.

This is the first edition of the Hangzhou Open, classified as an ATP Tour 250 Series of the ATP World Tour. It is played on a hard outdoor court.

It replaced the Zhuhai Championships from the ATP tour calendar this year.
