Hanoi-HCMC remained the world’s fourth busiest domestic flight route in 2024, according to a ranking list by aviation intelligence firm OAG.
It had 10.63 million seats available this year, down 2% from a year ago, the list published Tuesday based on seat capacity showed.
The over-1,000-km sector has consistently featured among the 10 busiest globally since 2017 and is dubbed the “golden” route by the Vietnamese aviation industry.
Five carriers, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, and Vietravel Airlines, service the route and offer flights throughout the day.
Data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam shows that over nine million passengers flew on this route last year, accounting for 22% of total domestic air traffic.

Among international routes, Hong Kong–Taipei rose from third to the top with 6.7 million seats, a 45% increase from last year.
Cairo–Jeddah (5.46 million) remained in second place, followed by Seoul Incheon–Tokyo Narita (5.4 million) and last year’s top-ranking Kuala Lumpur–Singapore (5.38 million).
