Actor Hansika Motwani and businessman Sohael Khaturiya have officially divorced after nearly four years of marriage. The couple was granted a divorce by a family court in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb.
Hansika’s lawyer, Adnan Shaikh, confirmed the development, stating that the divorce was granted through mutual consent after both parties acknowledged that their marriage had irretrievably broken down.
Frequent Disagreements Led to Separation
According to reports, the couple had been facing frequent disagreements, including conflicts over minor issues. Over time, these differences reportedly created significant strain in the relationship, making it difficult for them to continue living together.
The divorce petition also stated that both families and close friends attempted to help the couple reconcile and encouraged them to resolve their issues. However, these efforts were unsuccessful.
Eventually, Hansika and Sohael decided to separate and legally end their marriage.
Couple Had Been Living Separately Since 2024
Court documents revealed that the couple had been living separately since July 2, 2024. After discussions, they mutually agreed to pursue a legal separation and filed their affidavits confirming consent for the dissolution of their marriage.
Both parties reportedly chose to end the relationship amicably without making any claims against each other.
Hansika Did Not Seek Alimony
In an official statement, Hansika’s legal representative clarified that the actor did not seek any financial settlement as part of the divorce.
“Our client, Hansika Motwani, has been granted a decree of divorce by the Hon’ble Family Court Bandra. The divorce was granted by mutual consent after both parties acknowledged that the marriage had irretrievably broken down,” the statement said.
The lawyer also emphasized that Hansika chose not to claim any alimony or maintenance, stating that her intention was to bring a dignified and peaceful closure to the marriage.
Marriage and Speculation
Hansika and Sohael tied the knot on December 4, 2022, in a grand wedding ceremony. Speculation about issues in their relationship began circulating last year after the actor removed several wedding photographs from her social media account.
As of now, neither Hansika nor Sohael has publicly commented on their divorce.
