In response to this, Hindu student organizations protested on Monday. They raised slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and raised voice against namaz on the campus. There was a heated argument and scuffle between the two sides. The administration immediately intervened and took control of the situation.

On Tuesday, Hindu organizations recited Hanuman Chalisa near the university. He said that if religious activities are banned on the campus, then why is Namaz allowed? Earlier Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalisa were banned here, but Namaz was allowed.
The angry protesters kept trying to break the barricade and enter the campus. Heavy police force was deployed. After a lot of effort the crowd was removed. During this, there was a minor altercation with the policemen.

Lucknow Police issued notice to 13 students who were offering Namaz and raising slogans. The report of Hasanganj police station said that these students obstructed the construction work and created fear of disturbance of peace through religious activity in a public place. The administration has directed these students to present a heavy bond and two sureties to maintain peace for one year.
This incident shows the conflict of student politics and religious sentiments in Lucknow University. The administration says that the building is dilapidated, hence steps were taken for security. Both sides demand that all religious activities on the campus should be conducted according to the same rules. The situation is now under control, but tension remains.
