Kiribati first welcomed 2026

Kiribati, an island country in the Pacific Ocean, was the first country in the world to enter the year 2026… Kiritimati (Christmas Island), located near the International Date Line, celebrated the New Year with community programs and traditional festivals at midnight local time.

New Zealand: Fireworks from Sky Tower, still hit by rain

New Zealand’s Auckland became the first big city to enter 2026…Fireworks that lasted for five minutes from the Sky Tower, the country’s tallest building, illuminated the sky.
