The police have already put in all their strength to make the New Year celebrations safe and crime free. Rajdhani Police has started this campaign under ‘Happy New Year Alert’. The campaign ‘Operation Trauma 3.0’ continued throughout the night and its effect was clearly visible. In this mega crackdown, the police was successful in arresting 285 criminals.

Delhi Police recovered a large quantity of illegal weapons, drugs, cash worth lakhs of rupees, liquor and stolen goods from the arrested people. Police claim that this campaign has proved decisive in breaking the back of criminals before the New Year. Its objective is to ensure crime-free celebrations during the New Year.

In a pre-emptive action under Operation Trauma 3.0, the South East District Police seized about two dozen illegal weapons, lakhs of rupees in cash, illegal liquor, drugs and stolen goods. The aim of this action was to arrest anti-social elements from sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incident on New Year.

Action in NDPS and Excise Act

A Delhi official said at least 350 accused were arrested during the tight security crackdown, adding that the arrests were made under different laws such as the Arms Act, Excise Act, NDPS Act and Gambling Act. Apart from this, 504 people were also detained to ensure crime-free celebrations during the New Year. Police also seized 21 illegal weapons, 27 vehicles, more than 12,258 liquor bottles, 20 cartridges, 27 knives, 310 mobile phones, about Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and 7 kg of ganja from different accused.

Police said that under Operation Trauma 3.0, around 116 bad tenants or habitual criminals were detained. Perpetrators in 10 property related cases were also arrested.

231 two-wheelers and four-wheelers seized

In this drive, focus was also placed on eliminating the network of vehicle theft. Five auto-lifters were arrested to ensure that festival revelers do not face any trouble. Apart from this, 231 two-wheelers and one four-wheeler were also seized during the raid.

21 country made pistols recovered

The seized items also included 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges and 27 knives. More than 12,000 quarters of illegal liquor and 6 kg of ganja were also recovered from the accused. In a crackdown against gamblers, police recovered Rs 2.3 lakh in cash during the raid. Around 210 stolen or lost mobile phones have also been recovered. Apart from this, the police have also detained a total of 1,306 people as part of preventive measures.

What is ‘Operation Trauma 3.0’?

‘Operation Trauma 3.0’ is a special security operation of the police, the aim of which is to directly attack crime networks, gangs, drug dealers and arms smugglers before the New Year celebrations. This operation was carried out in many areas simultaneously.
