Hardeep Puri replied to Rahul, told how his name came in Epstein files?
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has given a befitting reply to the allegations of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi, in his speech in the Lok Sabha, while referring to the Jeffrey Epstein files, had taken the names of Hardeep Puri and businessman Anil Ambani.
Hardeep Singh Puri, speaking to reporters on Wednesday, clearly said that he had very little contact with Epstein and that he had met him only on a few occasions as part of a delegation. He told, ‘I met Epstein only 3-4 times, that too under a commission of the International Peace Institute (IPI). We only had one email. These meetings had nothing to do with the allegations against Epstein.

How was the contact?
Puri said his main contact at the time was LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. He invited Hoffman to visit India. He said, ‘We used to talk on topics like ‘Make in India’ and Digital India. My name is mentioned only 3-4 times in three million emails.
Said- no interest
Puri further said, ‘I had no interest in Epstein’s activities. I was not the ‘right person’ for them. He told that Epstein had called him ‘two-faced’ and advised Rahul Gandhi to read that email.
While talking to journalists outside Parliament, Rahul Gandhi had cited the names of Puri and Anil Ambani in the American Epstein files. He had raised the question why no action was taken against Anil Ambani.
PM Modi was also accused
Earlier, on January 31, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had rejected the mention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2017 visit to Israel in the Epstein files. He said this was “nonsense thinking” from a convicted criminal and should be completely ignored.

Millions of pages of documents released
Let us tell you that last month the US Justice Department has released millions of pages of documents, more than 2,000 videos and 1.8 lakh photographs related to Epstein. These documents have been released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This law forces the government to make public information related to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Epstein was accused of sexually exploiting and trafficking young girls. He died in a New York prison in 2019, which was ruled a suicide.
