Hardik for Khel Ratna, who else was nominated for Arjun Award? see the list

25 players have been nominated for the National Sports Awards 2025. Hockey player Hardik Singh is certain to receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. Hardik is the only player who has been recommended by the selection committee for this award. At the same time, names of 24 players have been put forward for the Arjuna Award, in which no cricketer is included. For the second consecutive year, no cricketer’s name has been recommended for the National Sports Awards.

Yogasan player also selected

For the first time, Yogasan player has also been named for the National Sports Awards. Aarti Pal, associated with Yogasan sport, has been selected for the Arjuna Award. The Sports Ministry had recognized this game 5 years ago. Aarti is currently the National and Asian champion. Yogasana will be included as a demonstration sport in the 2026 Asian Games.

Divya nominated for Arjun Award

The selection committee meeting was held on Wednesday (24 December) to nominate the players. The selection committee included Indian Olympic Association (IOA) vice-president Gagan Narang, former badminton player Aparna Popat and former hockey player MM Somaiya. Chess players Divya Deshmukh and Vidit Gujarati are also among the players whose names he has recommended for the Arjun Award.

 

Divya had recently won the FIDE Women’s World Cup title. She became the first Indian woman to do so. The name of Tejaswin Shankar, who won the silver medal in the Asian Games 2023, has also been put forward for the Arjuna Award.
