IPL 2026 Updates: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined for violating the code of conduct during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026. In this match played at Eden Gardens, Hardik hit the stumps hard in anger during KKR’s innings, due to which the bails fell down.

After this incident, IPL fined Hardik 10 percent of his match fee and also gave him one demerit point. According to the report, he admitted his behaviour, after which the match referee imposed the punishment. According to the IPL Code of Conduct, misuse of field equipment is considered a Level-1 violation.
Actually, on the second ball of the over, Rovman Powell’s ball went in the air, but Robin Minz and Deepak Chahar had faith in each other and both stood up, the ball fell between the two players. Then Manish Pandey hit Hardik for two consecutive fours, due to this, on the fourth ball of the 10th over of the second innings, when Hardik Pandya, while going back to his run-up, dropped the bails of the wicket with force.
Batting first in the match, Mumbai Indians scored 147 runs in 20 overs. Corbin Bosch scored the highest unbeaten 32 runs for the team. In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders played intelligent innings of 45 runs by Manish Pandey and 40 runs by Rovman Powell, due to which KKR won the match by four wickets in 18.5 overs.
This season of Mumbai Indians has been quite disappointing so far. The team is at the bottom of the points table with just four wins from 13 matches. At the same time, captain Hardik Pandya has also not been able to live up to the expectations with both bat and ball. Now Mumbai will play its last league match against Rajasthan Royals.
