Sanju Samson’s great performance in his comeback match:
Earlier, star Indian players Abhishek Sharma (34) and Sanju Samson (37) had propelled India to 63 runs in just the sixth over. Samson, playing in place of the injured vice-captain Shubman Gill, made full use of the opportunity and strengthened his claim for a place in the squad for next year’s T20 World Cup, a team that the selection committee will be discussing in a meeting on Saturday. Samson was eventually dismissed by George Linde, caught off a delivery pitching on leg stump. Samson had started his innings with a six off Marco Jansen and also hit two impressive strokes against Ottniel Baartman.
The umpire and cameraman got injured:
Samson also got a life before being dismissed when Donovan Ferreira dropped a return catch, and the ball hit umpire Rohan Pandit near his knee. Later, a six hit by Pandya injured a member of the broadcasting team, who sustained an injury to his left arm, and the ball then bounced into the hands of a spectator ten rows behind.
