Harmanpreet Kaur 9000 International Runs: Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has achieved another big achievement in her name in the Lord’s Test against England. She achieved this milestone during her brilliant half-century innings and with this she has become only the third Indian player to do so after Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana.
On the first day of the only women’s Test match being played between India and England at the historic ground of Lord’s from Friday (July 10), Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur achieved a big personal achievement by performing brilliantly with the bat. In this match, he played a brilliant inning of 58 runs in 121 balls, in which he hit seven fours. During this innings, Harmanpreet also made an important partnership of 89 runs in 155 balls with vice-captain Smriti Mandhana for the fourth wicket. Mandhana also batted brilliantly and scored 83 runs in 108 balls and handled the Indian innings.
Before this match, Harmanpreet needed only 13 runs to complete 9000 runs in women’s international cricket. He crossed this figure during his half-century innings and created history. Now she has become the third player from India to score 9000 or more runs in women’s cricket.
Former Indian women’s legendary batsman Mithali Raj retired from international cricket in 2022 and had scored 10,868 runs in her career. Smriti Mandhana has 10,667 runs in her name. Now Harmanpreet has also joined the 9000-run club as the third batsman.
