‘God has for us…’, captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s big statement after winning Lord’s Test
Delhi:Indian women’s cricket team registered a historic victory by defeating England by 270 runs at Lord’s. The Indian team had set a huge target of 457 runs for England to win, in response the entire England team was reduced to 186 runs. With this, Harmanpreet Kaur became the fourth captain of India to win a Test match at Lord’s. Before him, this feat has been done by Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

The Indian captain said that Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma are the biggest strengths of the team. Both of them gave a great start in the first innings and reduced the pressure on the middle order, due to which the team could reach a strong score.
Credit for victory given to support staff
Harmanpreet said that the previous series of the England tour was not in the team’s favour, but head coach Amol Majumdar and the entire support staff maintained the morale of the players.
He said,
‘The last few series did not go in our favour, but the support staff kept us together. It is as a result of that that we were able to make such a brilliant comeback in the Test match.

Praising Yastika Bhatia’s historic century, Harmanpreet said that the team had full faith in her ability and she proved it right. Apart from this, he also praised the fielding of the entire team including Richa Ghosh and said that the hard work of the players was clearly visible on the field.
