Rohit was part of the Indian team in T20 World Cup 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021, 2022 and 2024. He led the Indian team to the title in the 2024 T20 World Cup; This turned out to be the last T20 World Cup tournament of his career. After that he retired from T20 international cricket.
