Harmanpreet Kaur spoke ahead of Women's T20 World Cup 2024

Mumbai Mumbai: Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur believes that the team they are taking to the Women's T20 World Cup is the best in their history. The right-handed batsman reflected that their bowling and batting depth is something that sets them apart and enables them to do something special.

India's best performance in the World Cup came in the 2020 edition, when they reached the final but lost miserably to Australia. The Women in Blue reached the semi-finals a year ago but again lost to eventual champions Australia.

“If I talk about this team, we have some players who have been playing for a long time and they know their role very well. I can say that this is the best team with which we are going for the T20 World Cup. Pooja [वस्त्रकर] Renuka is doing well and [सिंह] She is supporting him very well. She [रेणुका] Such players are the ones who always bring us success. Arundhati [रेड्डी] There are players who can always bowl a few overs for the team and bat in the deep. I know what they are doing and what they are capable of.”

On India's shock loss to Sri Lanka in the final of Asia Cup 2024, Kaur said it was a one-off game and she believes they have addressed it well. “If I talk about the entire tournament, we played really good cricket during the Asia Cup. There was just one match on the day where things didn't go our way. We sat down and discussed how we want to work on our shortcomings in the camp and where we can improve if such situations arise next time.
