Harry Kane after Argentina loss: “We need to find that missing piece”

After a heartbreaking loss to Argentina in the World Cup semis, Harry Kane spoke to BBC after the game and was convinced that England are still only a fraction off glory on the international stage.

England were 1-0 up in a semi-final against Argentina once again like they were in 2018 where they lost 2-1 to Croatia in the World Cup semis.

However, this time they held on for a long period until the 85th minute and were 10 minutes off winning a spot in the World Cup final.

The changes made have brought a lot of criticism towards former Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel as he brought in defenders Dan Burn, Nico O’Reilly and Ezri Konsa.

After the match, England captain Harry Kane said: “The lads have given every bit of blood, sweat and tears.”

He added: “Lads were putting blocks in, but it wasn’t enough. We had a lot of good moments at the tournament, a lot of good games and another semi-final.”

Kane said: “We’re close we just need to find that missing piece late in the tournament.”
