Haryana's election fight on Robert Vadra, BJP takes a dig at Congress, will things be resolved?

New Delhi: Voting for assembly elections is to be held in Haryana on 5 October. Before this, BJP and Congress are attacking each other. Two days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had commented on Robert Vadra, a well-known businessman and son-in-law of the Gandhi family, during an election rally in Sonipat, Haryana. After this, Robert Vadra also hit back at PM Modi. This controversy is not stopping. On Friday, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia once again targeted Robert Vadra.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia claimed that the fight in the assembly elections is between the 'Lal of Haryana' and the 'middleman' of the Gandhi family. He also questioned the silence of the Congress leadership on corruption allegations against the then government led by Robert Vadra and Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Addressing a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is speaking on farmers' issues but he has not said a single word about his 'land-grabbing' brother-in-law. Citing alleged land deals linked to Vadra, he alleged that Hooda is just a mask and the real face of corruption is the Gandhi family.

Bhatia claimed that Robert Vadra's company had allegedly acquired 3.5 acres of land of farmers and the then Hooda government changed the use of the land. He said this helped him make huge profits by selling at four times the purchase price. He alleged that in another case, farmers were forced to sell their land after the Congress government issued a notification for land acquisition and then the notification was canceled after a builder linked to Vadra bought their land.

Robert Vadra has consistently denied allegations of any wrongdoing and accused the BJP of targeting him due to political vendetta. Bhatia claimed that the Congress in Haryana is struggling with internal strife and Kumar Selja, who comes from the Dalit community, has been ill-treated by Hooda and party general secretary Randeep Surjewala.

Who will stop Vadra?

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia questioned who would stop Vadra if the opposition party comes to power again. He said that between 2004 and 2014, when Congress was in power in Haryana, it had become a den of corruption. The BJP spokesperson expressed confidence that his party will remain in power. He said that Rahul Gandhi should answer the allegations against his brother-in-law.
