Haryana: Dense fog wreaks havoc in Haryana, visibility dropped to 5 meters
Haryana News: The weather pattern did not change in Haryana even on Monday and dense fog remained in most of the districts of the state. In many areas, visibility was reduced to just 5 to 10 meters in the morning, due to which road traffic was severely affected. The weather remained dry in the state during the last 24 hours, but the intensity of fog is continuously increasing.
Bus accident in Nuh, major loss averted
A bus going to Chandigarh met with an accident near village Ghaseda in Nuh district at around 6 am on Monday amid dense fog. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in this accident, but this incident points towards the increasing danger due to fog.
62 vehicles collided in 2 days, 4 died
Dense fog has been prevailing in the state continuously for the last two days. During this period, 62 vehicles have collided with each other in 7 districts. In these accidents, 4 people including an 11th class student have died, while about 166 people are said to be injured. These road accidents have occurred in different areas of the state.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has expressed deep condolence over these accidents and has announced financial assistance of ₹ 2.5 lakh to the family of the deceased student.
Government issued guidelines
Haryana government has become alert in view of increasing accidents due to dense fog. The government has issued safety guidelines for the people, in which it has been appealed that people should keep getting information about the weather continuously. For this, it has been advised to stay updated through radio, TV and newspapers.
Strict traffic system in Gurugram
Due to dense fog in Gurugram, visibility has reduced to less than 20 meters. In view of this, the traffic police has banned parking on the roads. The risk of accidents had increased due to the lack of visibility of vehicles parked on the road or side.
