Haryana policeman Sunil Sandhu has claimed that he was taking action against drugs, but he is being pressurized. He says that when he showed strictness against smugglers, he was warned of action. After this matter came to light, the discussion on the strength and transparency of the system against drugs has intensified.

Anurag Dhanda called the issue serious

Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda termed this issue as serious and said that the officers working against drugs should get full protection. He says that if an officer takes honest action, then it is necessary for him to get security and support. The party has demanded that the matter should be investigated impartially and the truth should be brought out.

War against drugs campaign continues in Punjab

The Bhagwant Mann government has claimed to run a ‘war against drugs’ campaign in Punjab from 2022 onwards. There, talks of actions like arrest of big suppliers and confiscation of property have come to light. Aam Aadmi Party says that only concrete and strict steps against drugs can save the youth.

Honest officers should get protection

It is more important than political rhetoric to see action at the ground level. Addiction is a social challenge, which affects the entire society.
