Haryana: Good news for the MLAs in Haryana, the government made this big announcement

Haryana News: Haryana government has increased the membership allowance of MLAs. Now MLAs will get membership allowance of Rs 12,000 in metro cities and Rs 9,000 in other cities. Earlier this amount was fixed at Rs 5,000 for everyone. Haryana Assembly Secretary Rajiv Prasad has issued a notification in this regard.

Amendment in rules, applicable from 2025

On the instructions of Assembly Speaker Harvindra Kalyan, the Haryana Assembly (Members Allowance) Rules-1976 have been amended. Under this, Haryana Assembly (Members Allowance) Amendment Rules-2025 have been implemented. In the amendment, in the column of membership allowance, instead of Rs 5,000, the words Rs 12,000 for metro cities and Rs 9,000 for remaining cities have been substituted.

Relief to former MLAs also

The government has also given big relief to former MLAs. The maximum limit of Rs 1 lakh on pension, dearness relief and special traveling allowance has been abolished. According to the new provisions, now former MLAs will be able to get up to Rs 10,000 every month as traveling allowance.

550 former MLAs will get benefits

About 550 former MLAs of the state will get the benefit of the Haryana Assembly (Salary, Allowances and Pension) Amendment Bill-2025, passed in the winter session of the Haryana Assembly. This decision of the government is expected to provide financial relief to both current and former MLAs.
