What is Dayalu Yojana?
Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Dayalu Yojana aims to provide financial support to families living below poverty line (BPL) in times of crisis. Under the scheme, if a member of a BPL family dies untimely or becomes permanently disabled, financial assistance is provided by the government.
Members covered between 6 to 60 years
The special thing about this scheme is that not only the head of the family but all the members from 6 years to 60 years are covered in it. Whereas in the National Family Benefit Scheme of the Central Government, assistance is provided only on the death of the head of the family.
Assistance from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh
In the Dayalu scheme, different slabs have been fixed on the basis of age. Under the scheme, financial assistance ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh is given to eligible beneficiaries. This help is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT.
